Senior Minister of State for Defence Mr Zaqy Mohamad is in Indonesia from 17 to 18 September 2024 to attend the Bali International Airshow (BIA) 2024. The BIA serves as a platform to bring together the international defence and aerospace communities and was attended by government and defence officials, as well as industry and business leaders from around the world. Indonesian Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investments Luhut Pandjaitan officiated the opening ceremony on 18 September.

Mr Zaqy’s visit to Indonesia underscores the close and long-standing bilateral defence relations between Singapore and Indonesia. The Singapore Armed Forces and Indonesian National Defence Forces interact regularly across a wide range of activities, including military exercises, high-level visits, professional exchanges, and cross-attendance of courses. These interactions continue to deepen mutual understanding, strengthen friendships and enhance cooperation between both defence establishments.
